
The 46th batch of the STET-VIP NSTP Qualifying Course composed of 50 faculty-
coordinators were privileged to have CHEDRO-IX NSTP Coordinator Mr. Abelardo P.
Morrok as a Resource Person and co-participant. A total of 32 Higher Education and
TESDA Supervised Institutions representing 16 regions of the Philippines completed
the 46th Qualifying Course for Coordinators/Instructor Facilitators/ Volunteers/
Stakeholders of the NSTP held at Local Government Academy Training Center, UP
Los Baños, Laguna on November 24-26, 2007.
Among the policy directions and innovations of STET-VIP Season 2 are the following:
A. Compliance and implementation of the CHED/TESDA/DND Revised Rules
and Regulations (IRR) of the NSTP dated December 28, 2006 and the
mandated projects as per CHED Memorandum
B. Synergia (Season 2) includes the three theological virtues of faith, hope,
and love as well as the seven contrary virtues of humility, kindness,
abstinence, chastity, patience, liberality, and diligence. These virtues are in
addition to the paedeia (Season 1) virtues of prudence, justice, temperance,
industry, fortitude, loyalty, responsibility, cheerfulness, generosity, and
magnanimity
C. Engagement of philanthropreneurs who bring entrepreneurial approach to
philanthropy. Philanthropreneurs are interested in effecting positive changes in
the world and alleviating suffering, but are doing so for profit. Their
contributions are investments rather than donations
D. Institutionalization of community service through a Memorandum of
Agreement with Local Government Units on youth development and poverty
alleviation projects
E. Improvement of communication through the STET-VIIP NSTP e-group for
Coordinators and for the members of the STET-VIP NSTP Volunteer Corps
F. STET-VIP website Bulletin Board for affiliate institutions’ announcements on
their community projects and activities at www.stetvip.org
G. Entrepreneurial Livelihood Program for youth development and poverty
alleviation
H. Promote the STET-VIP ECO Bag to avoid the use of plastic bags in order to
help preserve the environment
I. Developing the Mechanics on issuance of Certificate of Donation to
Benefactors of affiliate Higher and Technical Education Institutions(HTEIs)
nationwide
J. On-line marketing of products of STET-VIP NSTP students/alumni at www.
stetvip.org
K. Institution of a new award for NSTP students and alumni known as “Young
Entrepreneurs for Community Service”
L. Partnership with other NGOs to intensify Resource Generation
